DaVinci Resolve 18 vs Adobe Premier

We exchanged Adobe Premier for Da Vinci and were satisfied.

Six months ago, not only a new place, country, language became new for us. We studied a lot, improving the technical capabilities of the video camera. So, why did we completely switch to Da Vinci, although the Adobe skills and the program itself remained with us:

  1. The program is fully licensed and can be downloaded for free, but now you know how residents of the Russian Federation cannot easily pay for this or that paid program. Moreover, the capabilities of the free version far exceed those of the paid Adobe version.
  2. The paid version has even more goodies. Such as face processing, cutting out an object from a frame and many others
  3. More intuitive than Adobe. It is clear that for many this is a matter of habit. But once you start you won’t be able to stop
  4. Always on trend. The creators are constantly working on the program, adding new cool transitions. Since there is point 1, it is automatically updated for everyone.
  5. In our experience, it doesn’t crash like Adobe Premier. Even if it crashes. For example, if the lights are turned off at home, it automatically saves the mounted material.
  6. Da Vinci is not just one program. And as many as five sections combined into one. Moreover, several people or even departments can mount one project.
  7. Of course, what Da Vinci is most famous for is its color correction capabilities. Some people believe that the program's main job is to colorize videos. Indeed, this was originally her strength. She has the ability to choose which camera and in what mode the shooting took place in order to very accurately understand the picture and its colors.
  8. The Fiji function is a fairy tale built into Da Vinci, similar to the cool separate Newk program. Special effects, 3D and other amazing things
  9. Working with sound. Adobe had to use a separate program, Adobe Audition. And here all the functions are already there.
  10. Thanks to the listed convenience and use, projects are completed many times faster, and less time is spent on rendering.
  11. There are prospects for further growth, as the program is used by many film companies in their projects.

If you are interested in studying this program, sign up for a consultation with Ivan Fedoruk. He taught me and will help you reach a new level in editing! And if you already work in DaVinci, write down the pros and cons of using it for you.

 Sincerely, Fedoruk Ekaterina
