Bright flash and children's eye health.

Many parents want to capture their children in photographs. They grow so fast and change every day. But did you know that taking photos can harm your baby?! Stop ✋, no need to worry.

Only if pulsed light (flash) is used. As photographers, we really love using it because it freezes the frame and gives it clarity (especially when working with moving kids). However, we decided for ourselves to use only constant or natural light, since it is not fully known how flashes affect the baby’s health (he cannot say for himself).

Some sources say that infants have not yet developed a reflex that allows their pupils to contract sharply in bright light. This means that the flash is very harmful to the baby’s retina, since a powerful pulse of light enters the fundus of the eye. A bright flash at such an early age (up to 6 months) can trigger the development of epilepsy if the child has a predisposition to it.

And although this issue has not yet been fully studied and different opinions are circulating on the Internet, for us the health of the baby is more important than convenience and even the perfection of the photo. ❤️
